As you may have noted in my first article here on Medium, the inability to record associated media on-chain with #NFTWEETS, is (partially) what halted the first attempt at a #redpaperclipswap after one and a half, successful (ish) trades. Ha!
There was one line in there that caught my eye…ASCII art Tweets.
Ok, cool! What the heck is that?! Off to the google machine we go!

Now that I know what I’m looking for, a very quick search reveals that this is exactly what some artists had already started to put out there after hearing about #NFTWEETS! Maybe as a joke, perhaps an honest attempt to create something outside their comfort zone, likely somewhere in between. Who cares really, art is being made and it’s hella fun, so I decided to throw together a couple of my favorites (so far) in one place for easy viewing.
No claims that these are available…just plugging some artists here folks :)

I’ve never considered myself an artist until I came across the following fun fact: “The first ASCII emoticons, :-) and :-(, were written by Scott Fahlman in 1982, but emoticons actually originated on the PLATO IV computer system in 1972.”
